Bita MESGARPOUR

 Bita Mesgarpour was born in Iran. She graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) in Iran with a Pharm. D. degree in 1999. She had been working as a researcher, officer and executive manager in several institution including Iranian Institute for Medicinal Plants and National Research Center for Medical Sciences of Iran as well as Undersecretary of Research and Technology, Iranian Ministry of Health.

In fall 2006, she started her post graduate study in public health at TUMS and received her Master in Public Health (MPH) in July 2008.

She did her PhD study in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Department of Emergency Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna from Feb. 2009 to June 2013. She came back to Iran after being one year postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the Medical University of Vienna and worked as Director of International Affairs at National Institute for Medical Research Development (NIMAD) in Tehran.

Currently, she is Associate Professor of Pharmacoepidemiology and  serves  as the co-director of Cochrane Iran.
